OPG – PANORAMIC
Panoramic radiograph is an extraoral sectional, bidimensional radiograph that captures both the maxillary and the lower jaw, on a single film.
OPG – BITEWING
It is the panoramic radiograph that captures the entire dentition, except the superior and inferior frontal incisor group, showcasing interproximal cavities.
OPG – TMJ
It is a radiograph of the temporomandibular joint that is performed in two steps: closed-mouth, open-mouth. The temporomandibular joints are captured on film in the two positions.
OPG – MAXILLARY SINUSES
It is the radiograph that is performed to reveal the conditions of maxillary sinuses.
OPG – PAEDIATRIC
Paediatric panoramic radiograph is the type of OPG that is performed on children up to 6 years of age, with a lower radiation dose. It is not printed to scale on film.
LATERAL SKULL
Lateral skull radiograph is a radiograph of the skull viewed from the side, used for performing orthodontic measurements.
PA VIEW SKULL
It is the cephalometric radiograph that captures the skull in posteroanterior projection.
AFS
It is the radiograph that shows the antero-frontal sinuses.
RETROALVEOLAR
Retroalveolar radiograph is the intraoral radiograph that captures the tooth and support bone tissue around the area of interest in their entirety. It is used to assess cavities and periodontal tissue in both the anterior and the posterior areas.
OCCLUSAL
Occlusal radiograph is the intraoral radiograph that captures the skeletal or pathological anatomy of the buccal roof and the hard palate. It allows, for example, to view an embedded canine tooth. It is double in size compared to a retroalveolar radiograph.
BITEWING
It is the intraoral radiograph that allows the detection of proximal cavities in the premolar and molar areas.
